My psychiatrist determined that I sometimes get what’s called situational depression. It feels exactly the same as clinical depression but it’s caused by me being in a stressful situation (e.g. taking a really hard course at school).

I found this video kind of toxic and offensive. The reason being. The idea that someone would be depressed because of lack of change. I'm actually depressed because there's no way to move forward with my life. Like legally I've been made it so that I can't move forward. A long story but say if I said to say that certain people. Are not allowed to work. That's the fastest to say that there is a benefit out there. So toxic. That it it makes your health and the medicines you need to survive. Wholesome over your head. It says if you ever want to work again you have to be a slave. You cannot get married. You will die alone. Or we won't give you the meds you need to live. This is the most toxic most brutal most inhuman thing that could ever happen to somebody. I'm depressed for an absolute reason. If I was not depressed I would be delusional. The reality is that some people are depressed for a very good reason.

The maker of this video has no idea what major depressive disorder is. The attempt to get better takes an extreme amount of effort at a time when will power is at its lowest. This person is so far off base it isn't funny.

The amount of creativity in this show is insane

Heartbreak is a very painful but important lesson to learn. Had to face that pain more than once but each time I was truly blessed to have my friends, my brothers there for me to pick me back up and help me strive towards bettering myself and move forward. Healing takes time and the pain will be there for a while but once you begin to grow numb to it you’ll find a strength within yourself that you never thought was possible if you have the will to act and better yourself, my friends showed me that and I hope and pray that anybody else who is going through that pain or maybe hasn’t yet, even if you think you don’t have anyone to help you know that you’re not alone and it’s never too late. God bless 🙏

This is probably one of the most misleading videos i have ever seen. Comparing depression to temporary sadness is like comparing schizophrenia to being tired. I'm sorry, but... as someone who has been depressed for about half my life, i hope nobody takes advice from this video.

The biggest tilt for me is watching reels on instagram of people wo try to tell me they have a have a depression and now they lying in their bed, eating ice cream and watching their favorite tv shows. No girl... this is not a depression you maybe embracer the melancholic feeling u have right now but this sounds like a enjoyable situation lul

Coming from Stan's perspective having a pretty severe case of high functioning depression, I work with elementary schools as a sports coach and honestly the way I go about it is to basically wear a mask or have a persona that still engages with all of the beauty in life that my kids celebrate and experience daily. I often go out of my way to celebrate their birthdays or little awards taking pictures of their certificates of excellence and making it my wallpaper or buying them gifts that are somewhat expensive and creative to let them know I truly do care and am not buying some dollar store garbage to get the errand over with. Sometimes its exhausting because I truly just don't share their excitement for trivialities anymore, but I've always been a good actor. There are moments where I do trick my brain into operating like a normal brain feeling some semblance of logical happiness, meaning I realize a beautiful memory is currently being created and I am able to ride it for as long as I can, but after a couple hours of leaving work the numbness comes back. Depression is like taking the bullshit lens out of life and not being able to hypnotize yourself back into fairyland mode where the dumbest shit appeases your ape brain into being emerged

No this was life changing for me. It made me understand my mom in a way I couldn’t before with her depression and it leading to drinking. South Park will always be near and dear to my heart for many reasons, this being included.
